Direct Service Provision

 

Sacro provides a range of Criminal Justice, Restorative Justice and Reparation, Community Mediation and Schools Work services. All Sacro services exist to promote safe and cohesive communities by reducing conflict and offending.

Our services are based on evidence and international standards of good practice and we are committed to development and innovation.

Sacro works with a broad range of clients, many of whom have multiple needs. When appropriate, we work in partnership with local authorities and other service delivery agencies who share our values.

Sacro currently works in 28 local authorities, providing almost 80 services from 34 locations.

 

The table below shows the range of services, currently provided by Sacro.

Sacro Criminal Justice Services include:

Alcohol Education Probation Service

Cognitive behaviour-based programme addressing the links between alcohol misuse and offending.

Another Way Service

Support and guidance for street sex workers to help them break the cycle of drug use and offending.

Arrest Referral Service

Provides support, guidance and access to treatment services for offenders who use drugs or misuse alcohol. Access to the service is at the point of arrest.

Care and Respect Service

A structured educational programme for those convicted of an alcohol-related driving offence.

Community Links Centre

Helps prisoners to overcome many of the problems which can cause them to offend following release.

Groupwork: Community Sexual Offending Groupwork Programme

A groupwork programme which addresses the behaviour of men convicted of a sexual offence.

Groupwork: Domestic Abuse Programme

A groupwork programme which addresses the behaviour of men convicted of a domestic abuse or related offence.

Groupwork: Women’s Service

Support for partners or ex-partners of men attending the Domestic Abuse Groupwork Programme.

Groupwork: Children’s Service

Support for children of men attending the Domestic Abuse Groupwork Programme.

Housing Support Service

Assists prisoners on release to re-integrate with the community while living in their own home.

Intensive Support & Monitoring Service

Part of a multi-agency supervision service for high-risk offenders who are resettling within the community.

Streetwise Service

Education programme for schools which encourages responsible road use.

Supervised Bail Service

An effective alternative to remand whereby accused persons undertake supervised behavioural work outwith prison.

Supported Accommodation Service

Provides advice and support to assist offenders to move on to successful independent living.

Supported Tenancy Service

Provides accommodation, support and monitoring of sex offenders returning to the community.

Throughcare: Travel Service

Provides family and friends with regular transport to prisons and secure hospitals.

Throughcare: Voluntary Assistance Service

Provides advice, guidance and support to prisoners to help with their resettlement within the community.

Throughcare: Voluntary Support Service

Provides guidance and support to high-risk offenders while providing an important contact point with them.

Throughcare: Volunteer Support Service

Volunteers provide emotional support to prisoners to help them cope with isolation from their families.

Sacro Restorative Justice and Reparation Services include:

Awareness Programmes

Engaging young people in discussions to increase awareness of the actions and consequences of their offending.

Community Based Reparation

Gives young people and adults harmed by a crime, a voice in how they would like the harm caused to them to be addressed.

Face-to-face Mediation

A direct meeting between the person harmed and the person responsible for an offence.

Family Group Conferences

Bringing agencies together with families to make decisions on future care and protection of children and young people.

Restorative Acceptable
Behaviour Contracts

A voluntary written agreement which gives young people the opportunity to formally commit to improving their behaviour.

Restorative Justice Conferencing

A meeting between all those affected by an offence, resulting in an action plan to prevent re-offending.

Restorative Justice Service

An effective alternative to prosecution which repairs the harm caused in cases of minor crimes.

Scottish Restorative Justice
Consultancy and Training Service

A training and consultation service for Scottish organisations, agencies and institutions delivering restorative practices in a youth environment.

Shuttle Dialogue

Indirectly facilitates dialogue between the person harmed and the person responsible for an offence.

Talk After Severe Crime (TASC) Service

Helps victims of severe crime to cope better by providing the opportunity to communicate with those responsible.

Youth Justice Strategy Co-ordination

Co-ordinates the development and implementation of a Youth Justice Strategy across local Youth Justice Agencies.

Sacro Community Mediation Services include:

Community Mediation Service

Helps to resolve neighbourhood disputes by assisting the parties involved to identify a suitable solution to their problem.

Homeless Mediation Service

Helps to reduce homelessness among young people due to difficulties with family or people they live with.

Street Mediation Service

Aims to facilitate dialogue, build bridges and resolve disputes between groups of young people and the wider community.

Sacro Schools Services include:

Peer Mediation Service

Providing advice, support and guidance to teaching staff wishing to promote mediation techniques within schools.

Restorative Justice Interventions

A whole-school approach to relationship building and conflict management.
