Working in partnership with other agencies, Sacro’s Intensive Support & Monitoring Service provides effective management of high risk offenders within the community in order to reduce the risk of re-offending.
ISMS can provide (or request from the local authority) individual accommodation, mainly for high-risk sex offenders, which restricts risk to the community as far as possible and affords the offender freedom from harassment. Monitoring can take place up to 24 hours per day and may include staff sleep-in arrangements within the accommodation. Intensive support and guidance is provided to assist with the offender’s resettlement within the community whilst minimising the risk of them re-offending.
Sacro workers will engage with partner agencies to assess the level of risk involved and the level of support required.
The support given can provide guidance on areas such as housing, finance, relationships, social life and life skills.
Intensive monitoring and continuous risk assessment and reporting will be provided according to each individual case. Sacro’s contribution to supervision and behavioural change is intended to assist offenders to resettle safely and effectively within the community. This is all carried out with the over-riding principle of ensuring community safety.
The service is solely for those designated as high-risk offenders who cannot be released into the community without intensive levels of supervision and monitoring.
Referrals are made via local authority criminal justice services.
