LinkLiving works in partnership with people to provide a range of housing and support services. The Edinburgh Young Persons Service aims to provide flexible, responsive support, individually planned with each service user.
The service provides practical, social and emotional support to young people aged 16-25 years throughout Edinburgh. Support can be provided to set up and sustain a tenancy, including support with sorting out rent and benefits, decoration, furnishing and utilities.
The support on offer is flexible and can range from two hours or more per week. It can also vary from once a week to seven days a week depending on individual support needs.
Support is person-centred, flexible and responsive to the needs of the individual. It helps people to develop their skills to live independently, deal with neighbours and feel safe and secure in their own homes.
It can also develop skills such as
- budgeting and paying bills
- shopping and cooking
- maintenance of the home
- support to be part of their community
The service is available to young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years old who:
- are setting up, or are about to set up home for the first time
- are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- are parents
- are leaving care
- have mental health issues or learning disabilities
- have drug or alcohol issues
Ask staff at the Community Links Centre to help you with an enquiry.
