Sacro is a leading provider of Community Mediation, Youth Justice and Criminal Justice services. In Scotland, Sacro is:
- The main provider of Supported Accommodation for offenders
- The main provider of Intensive Support and Monitoring for those at high risk of offending
- The only voluntary sector provider of Adult Restorative Justice Services
- The main voluntary sector provider of Throughcare services/Community Links Centre
- The main voluntary sector provider of Community Mediation
- A major provider of Youth Justice services.
Through consultation, Sacro also seeks to influence Government policy and legislation.

Based on over 30 years’ experience of working in communities in Scotland and on considerable research evidence, Sacro believes that crime can be addressed more effectively by maximising the use of community sentences, programmes and services, and reducing the use of imprisonment.
Our services, which all seek to increase community safety, include those that aim to prevent escalation of conflict, divert people from prosecution, restorative justice, and services for prisoners on release. Our services are based on research and international standards of good practice. We are committed to development and innovation.
We work with a broad range of clients, from neighbours in dispute to those who have multiple needs. We work in partnership with local authorities and other service delivery agencies.
Sacro is a company limited by guarantee, Recognised as a charity in Scotland. Full members have voting rights and may serve on the Board of Directors, Sacro’s governing body (and are liable to contribute £5 in the event of the company being wound up).
