Peer Mediation Services

Sacro has been providing mediation services since 1987. Using this wealth of experience and knowledge, Sacro provides advice, training, guidance and support to schools wishing to set up their own peer mediation service.

What does the service offer?

Mediation is a form of intervention in situations of conflict and has a substantial and growing reputation for success in a number of fields.

Peer mediation provides opportunities for young people to acquire and develop life skills, which will inevitably enhance their own lives and their capacity for improving the communities in which they live.

Schoolchildren face conflict, disputes and disagreements in their daily lives as much as anyone. Peer mediation helps empower these young people to deal with these situations effectively by using proven techniques in a structured and supported manner.

The service is a valuable asset to any school and can be particularly useful in preventing bullying and addressing low level conflict, disagreements and fallouts.

How does the service work?

Sacro provides a comprehensive training and advice service for schools, staff and children to enable them to set up their own peer mediation service. It also offers continuing local support and supervision for staff and advises on the evaluation and monitoring of the service.

Who is the service aimed at?

The service is provided exclusively for local authority services and schools and is suitable for primary, secondary and special education.

How is the service accessed?

Please contact Sacro directly for details of the service.
