Supported Tenancy Service

Sacro’s Supported Tenancy Service helps to reduce the risk of re-offending by supporting and monitoring sex offenders returning to the community.

What does the service offer?

Through a tripartite agreement between criminal justice, housing services and Sacro, sex offenders returning to the community after a period of imprisonment are supported and monitored within community-based accommodation. The accommodation is exclusively in single tenancy sites.

How does the service work?

A detailed protocol exists which outlines the respective roles of criminal justice services, housing services and Sacro. The aims of the service are to minimise the risk presented by service users to the community and to secure permanent accommodation for them.

Who is the service aimed at?

The service is aimed at convicted sex offenders who have a previous residential link with the area.

How is the service accessed?

Referral processes are detailed within the service protocol and are usually made by officers in criminal justice services and housing services.
