Launch of Armed Forces Transition Project

Mentors from Sacro's Veterans Mentoring Service met with Scotland's Veterans Commissioner, Eric Fraser CBE at the launch of the Armed Forces Transition Project at Edinburgh Napier University today.

The Commissioner chairs the Scottish Veterans Fund which has recently awarded £315,591 to 19 projects across Scotland, including Sacro's Veterans Mentoring Service. The Fund has now awarded in excess of £1 million to veterans and ex-services charities across Scotland.

Sacro's Veterans Mentoring Service is a service for military veterans who are currently in or are on the periphery of the criminal justice system. The service works closely with the veteran to put an intensive support plan in place where strategies can be developed to cope with their specific needs. The aim of the service is to enable the service user to enjoy sustainable, independent living.
