Sacro in partnership with the Forth Valley Accredited Programmes Team deliver a Domestic Abuse Group (The Caledonian System) for men convicted of domestic abuse related offences with associated support services for their families. The aim of Caledonian is to give men the opportunity to change and to promote the safety and well-being of their partners/ex-partners and children.
The post-holder would be required to support children whose fathers/stepfathers are being assessed for, or are attending, the group, with a view to providing information, support and advocacy.
Applicants are required to have a working knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, the impact on Children and will involve delivering a service tailored to the needs of families surviving domestic abuse.
The ability to work on one’s own initiative and to work in partnership is desirable. Strong communication and organisational skills are required as well as risk assessment and management skills.
Applicants should be educated to at least a Higher National Certificate level or hold a SVQ 3 in a relevant subject, such as Social CAare.
Appointment to this post will be contingent on the preferred candidate passing a Caledonian Assessment for the Children’s Service. The successful candidate will then be required to attend specialist Caledonian training before undertaking this role.
Based in Brockville (Falkirk Social Work office) the post holder will work across the Forth Valley area with statutory and non-statutory agencies and partners. They will also receive specialist training and ongoing supervision for this role. The post requires hours to be worked flexibly and will include some evening work.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.
A valid driving licence and access to a car are required for this post.
