Glasgow Criminal Justice Support Worker - Community Payback Service

We are looking to recruit for Support Workers to assist in the delivery of Community Payback Orders (CPO) within Glasgow on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months.

The CPO Service will work with a group of individuals who are subject to Community Payback Orders in selected tasks of a practical nature which provide a benefit to the community.

You will be responsible for supervising groups of up to five individuals and working with them as they work to complete hours of Community Payback, a sentence of the court.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential as is an ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. It is also required that you are able to help the Community Payback Service Users to develop or acquire skills.

You should have good basic decorating and gardening skills and a recognised qualification would be an advantage.

Experience of working with offenders would be beneficial. Knowledge of and a commitment to working within Health and Safety legislation is essential. Induction and training will be given.

You must have a full driving licence and access to a car. Mileage allowance will be paid for appropriate mileage accrued in the course of performance of duties.

Work patterns will vary and will include days, evenings and weekends.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for these posts.
