Community Payback Service - Glasgow

Sacro’s Glasgow Community Payback Service will work with people who have been involved in offending or anti-social behaviour. In partnership with the local authority, Sacro staff will supervise individuals placed on a Community Payback Order, giving them an opportunity to give something back to the community by providing a service of real benefit.

We are looking to recruit for Sessional Workers to assist in the delivery of Community Payback Orders (CPO) within Glasgow.

The CPO Service will work with a group of individuals who are subject to Community Payback Orders in selected tasks of a practical nature, such as recycling furniture in a workshop environment and group working.

You will be responsible for supervising groups of individuals and working with them as they work to complete hours of Community Payback, a sentence of the court. You will also be required to support and deliver group sessions.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential as is an ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. It is also required that you are able to help the Community Payback Service Users to develop or acquire skills.

Excellent working knowledge of basic IT systems, e.g. Microsoft Office will be required.

You will be expected to maintain accurate records of service user attendance and transfer this information to electronic records.

You should have good basic DIY skills and a recognised qualification would be an advantage.

Experience of working with offenders would be beneficial. Knowledge of and a commitment to working within Health and Safety legislation is essential. Induction and training will be given.

To join this team where work is as challenging as it is rewarding, you will need to have a non-judgemental value base, a sensitive and practical approach, and be person-centred and flexible to meet the needs of our service users.

Knowledge of and a commitment to working within Health and Safety legislation including site risk assessment is essential and a recognised qualification would be an advantage.
