Sessional Criminal Justice Support Workers

As a Scotland-wide voluntary organisation, we are committed to providing services that contribute to positive transformational changes in the lives of our service users. We work independently and collaboratively within Scotland’s communities to provide support, prevent conflict and challenge offending behaviour wherever the need arises. Our services are based on research evidence, service user feedback, international standards of good practice and a commitment to development and innovation.

Opportunities have arisen to join our Criminal Justice teams in Lanarkshire, Glasgow and possibly other localities to support in the delivery of Community Payback Services. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and an interest in working with adults involved in offending. To join this successful team, where work is as challenging as it is rewarding, you will need to have a non-judgmental value base, a sensitive and practical approach and be flexible to meet the needs of our services.

Experience in social care, early interventions and working with offenders would be desirable however not essential as ongoing training will be provided. We are keen to hear from applicants from a variety of backgrounds as the tasks involved will be varied and will also involve outdoor work.

The post holder will require practical skills and the ability to communicate positively with a diverse range of individuals.

This post requires flexibility and the availability to work weekends when required.

The post holder may be required to support colleagues to deliver reducing reoffending group sessions when necessary.

You will be a good communicator, able to encourage and facilitate a good working environment.

Knowledge of and a commitment to working within Health and Safety legislation is essential.
Induction and training will be given.

A valid driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.
