Specialist Housing Support Service

Sacro are recruiting for our Specialist Housing Support Service in Aberdeen. The service’s focus is on maximising outcomes for Supported People and promoting independence. There will be close partnership working with service users and their families, the local authority and other support providers.
The successful candidate will provide practical advice and assistance to, and monitor the progress of service users as part of planned programmes of support. The service requires skills in engaging those with a learning disability and/or mental health needs and the ability to plan individual programmes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is an understanding of the nature of and purpose of the post. The ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment is essential. The Successful applicant will be flexible and imaginative in their approach and sensitive and confident in their ability to help service users. The ability to work in a non-discriminatory framework is essential.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) will be a requirement of this post.
A valid driving licence and access to a car would is desirable.
As the service runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, hours will be worked on a rota system which will include evenings, late evenings, weekends, sleep overs, Waking Night Shifts and public holidays.
