A vacancy has arisen for a Support Worker in Sacro’s Homeless Supported Accommodation services in Moray. Applicants will be required to provide practical advice and assistance to and monitor the progress of residents as part of planned programmes of support, working towards independent living. Applicants will also be required to ensure the overall safety of the units as well as the safety of those in the building.

Experience of support work or supporting other people is essential whilst working in a residential setting desirable. The post holder will be required to have a knowledge of homelessness, its causes and impact of those experiencing it as well as basic welfare rights and life-skills. Essential criteria includes good written and verbal communication, proficient use of Microsoft Office/365 and other IT systems, ability to liaise with other agencies and ability to work within a small busy team.

The successful candidate must be able to work with a non-judgemental attitude and be able to advocate for those people who use our service. The ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment is essential. The successful applicant will be flexible and imaginative in their approach and confident in their ability to help service users.

Hours will be worked on a rota system and will include evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Sleep in and on call cover will also be required, for which sleep in / on call allowances are payable.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme will be a requirement for the above post.
