The Dumfries and Annan Antisocial Behaviour Reduction – Scoping Project is a short-term project funded by the Scottish Government Aspiring Communities Fund (ACF). The ACF grant is for Sacro to work alongside partners in Dumfries and Annan to undertake a Community Scoping Project in relation to the impact of antisocial behaviour by young people aged 16 to 21 on communities in the towns of Dumfries and Annan.

An independent evaluation of the Scottish Government's Reducing Reoffending Change Fund (RRCF) has concluded that "mentoring is an effective approach which helps mentees to learn and implement constructive, non-criminal ways of addressing problems in their lives and to reduce risk factors associated with offending behaviour, and that there is a strong case for the continuation and expansion of mentoring services".

Sacro host delegation from Turkey

Sacro recently welcomed visitors from Turkey to its national office in Edinburgh. The meeting was part of a five-day study visit organised by the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) and the European Commission with the aim of observing best practice and co-operation between NGOs and the prison service.

Representatives from Sacro's Board, directors and management made presentations on the Shine public social partnership and Supporting Prisoners Advice Network services. The meeting also discussed the challenges and opportunities for the third sector in Scotland.
