Sacro’s successful renewal of the Investing in Volunteers standard was marked on 10 March with the presentation of a plaque and certificate at National Office. Anne Hislop, Investing in Volunteers Manager at Volunteer Scotland made the presentation to Sacro’s Tom Halpin (Chief Executive), Elizabeth Carmichael (Depute Chair), volunteers Kathryn Hilditch and Zenon Bankowski and Gareth Jenkins (Volunteer Co-ordinator).

Speaking at the presentation, Elizabeth Carmichael said: “Sacro is committed to supporting and developing our volunteers and the award of this IiV standard is recognition of the importance we place on them as an organisation.

“Volunteers bring real added value to Sacro. The experience and skills they bring to the job allows us to provide so much more support to our service users. The fact that they give freely of their time and the quality of support they provide is inspirational”.
