Good Neighbours

Sacro’s Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire Community Mediation Service will be running a Good Neighbour competition in the lead up to Christmas – the season of goodwill to all.

The mediation service would like to invite residents of Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire to nominate someone who has been a particularly good neighbour over the past year. The winner in each area will receive a meal for two.

Mediation Team Leader Irene Reid commented: "We tend to hear the stories about neighbours falling out but it is always very heartening to hear the good news about the majority of folks who go out of their way to be neighbourly. We are keen to encourage this and over the next few weeks we would like to hear from people with good stories to tell about kindly and public spirited neighbours.”

Anyone wishing to nominate a neighbour for the award is invited to complete and return the nomination form or send a letter, fax or e-mail to the community mediation office giving the name and address of the neighbour, saying (in no more than 70 words) why the person should win the award. Your own name, address and a contact phone number should also be enclosed.

All nominees must be over 18 and must not be a close relative. Please read the full competition rules here.

Separate prizes will be awarded to Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire winners.

There will also be a chance to nominate your good neighbour at the mediation information stand in Union Square Aberdeen. This will be in the upper floor on 6th and 13th November from 10am to 4pm

Nomination forms or letters should be sent to:
