Sacro appoints Lord Carloway as Honorary President

Sacro is delighted to announce the appointment of the Rt Hon Lord Carloway as its new President. Lord Carloway is currently Lord President of the Court of Session and Lord Justice General, the most senior judge of the Supreme Courts of Scotland and head of the Scottish Judiciary.

This follows the retiral of the Rt Hon Lord Cullen of Whitekirk KT who served as Honorary President from 2000 to 2015.

Sacro’s Chairman Sandy Cameron CBE making the announcement said "I am enormously grateful to have Lord Carloway’s support and leadership as Sacro continues its mission to deliver strong, community-based services for a safer and cohesive Scotland.

"We have been privileged to have benefited from the support of the Rt Hon Lord Cullen over many years and I am delighted that he will remain associated with this wonderful organisation as Honorary President."

Speaking of his appointment, Lord Carloway said: “It is a great privilege to accept this appointment as President of Sacro. I look forward to working closely with my fellow board members and carrying on the good work of my predecessor, Lord Cullen.”
