Sacro’s Another Way and Assertive Outreach services have reached the final stages of the Scottish Social Services Council’s Care Accolades.

The services are represented in the “Innovation and Redesign” and “Children and Young People” categories respectively.

Common to both services is a resolute and determined approach to supporting often hard to engage groups.

Sacro’s Another Way service provides one-to-one, non-judgemental support to sex workers in Edinburgh. The service helps women with many areas of their lives including healthcare, addictions, abuse, parenting and advice on exiting sex work if they wish to.

Assertive Outreach workers engage directly with young people in Aberdeen who are involved in persistent offending and have disengaged with other services. The service actively engages with the young people to assess their needs, provide support and establish a trusting relationship with them; all aimed at preventing further offending and anti-social behaviour.

The prestigious awards ceremony will take place in Perth Concert Hall on 10 June when the award winners will be announced.
