Last night the annual Herald Society Awards 2015 were held in Glasgow and Shine won in the category of Partnership Award.

Speaking shortly after the event, Yvonne Robson - Partnership Manager for Shine - said "the event itself was really good the finalists showed what tremendous things are going on in Scotland with some inspiring people. All of the finalists demonstrated fine work across Scotland. For Shine it was notable that two out of the three shortlisted in the Partnership Category were services working with women. I am absolutely delighted for the mentors and mentees and their managers all of whom go the extra mile in their work with Shine".

Adele Hill, a Shine manager who attended the event said “it felt quite a tough category to win and I was delighted for Shine to get the positive recognition of the hard work put in by all the staff.”

Shine is a national mentoring service for women offenders. The service is provided as a Public Social Partnership (PSP); a strategic partnership between public and voluntary sector organisations. Shine was launched in April 2013 and is now available all across Scotland.
