We are deeply sad to announce the passing of our friend and colleague Alan Shand. Alan passed away last Thursday following an illness which he has faced bravely over the past year or so.

Alan joined Sacro in February 2012 and was always a popular and well-loved colleague. He believed passionately in Sacro’s work and was also a member and supporter of the Scottish Association for the Study of Offending and The Howard League for Penal Reform in Scotland.

We have received so many comments from people who knew Alan. Colleagues, board members and ex-employees show how loved and respected he was by the Sacro family. We will all miss him very much and our thoughts are with his wife and family.

It was a privilege to work with him.
