LCpl Brodie Gillon was a Reserve Combat Medical Technician with the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry who was tragically killed in action in Iraq in March 2020.

Brodie’s military colleagues raised funds for Sacro's Forces of Nature service to support our work with veterans and those suffering from mental health issues & PTSD – which was something very dear to Brodie’s heart.

FoN and Sacro’s Veterans’ Mentoring Service are about to undertake an exciting new ‘beehive project’ with our veterans and we would love to be able to honour Brodie’s life and service with a memorial ‘mosaic’ wall next to the hive, in her name. This would be a place where Brodie’s family, and all veterans will be welcome to come and visit.

The Competition is open to any armed forces veteran in Scotland. You should detail your design on one A4 piece of paper. Designs should include the following:

  • Bumblebee (Brodie’s nickname was Queen B)
  • Poppy (Remembrance Day)
  • Symbolise Hope
  • The word ‘Breathe’ (Had great significance to Brodie)

Competition entries will be judged by a panel. The winning design will be built as an outdoor wall mural by Forces of Nature veterans. Winner will also receive a £50 shopping gift card.

Please submit your entries by email to: InfoForcesOfNature@sacro.org.uk

Or post to: Sacro, Unit G10, Festival Business Centre, 150 Brand Street, Glasgow, G51 1DH.

Ensure to add your name and contact telephone number. Competition closes Friday 12 Aug 2022. Good Luck!!!
