Sacro is delighted to welcome Lynne Thornhill as its new Director of Justice Services.

Lynne has worked as a Probation Officer and then a Probation Operations Manager across multi-agency settings across London, subsequently taking up a senior leadership role with the remit of improving practice and outcomes across London and Thames Valley private probation delivery. On her return to Scotland, she became Lead for Community Justice in Stirling, a role involving collaboration with a range of public and third sector partners to support the achievement of improved national and local community justice outcomes.

For the last two years Lynne has worked as an Improvement Lead at Community Justice Scotland, influencing and driving improvement via policy, planning and implementation, at both a local and national level, to improve outcomes for people touched by the justice system.

Speaking about her new role, Lynne said:

“I originally trained as a probation officer because I wanted to support people to find their better way of being and that intention remains. Since coming back to Scotland, I have been enthused by the passion demonstrated across the justice sector, particularly front-line services, to do just that. I feel privileged to be joining the passionate team at Sacro and supporting the delivery of inclusive person-centred services. Engagement, collaboration and innovation has to be front and centre of what we do, never-more so than now in the challenging times we face as a sector and wider as a society. I am looking forward to working in partnership with all our stakeholders, including those who access our services, to deliver better outcomes for people that prevent and reduce offending and support safer communities.”

Lynne takes up her role on 29 November.
