Sacro's Veterans Mentoring Service staff had a great day celebrating Volunteer's Week with the armed forces charity, SSAFA Lanarkshire, and a presentation to champion fundraiser and friend of the SSAFA Branch, Andy Lockhart. Andy, a veteran himself, formerly 40th Regiment RA (The Lowland Gunners) is pictured here with some of the branch members and other guests who kindly joined us on the day. He is a real fundraising warrior, raising thousands of pounds for SSAFA Lanarkshire Branch, giving so generously of his time and always supporting others in the veteran community – thank you!

Andy is pictured here, with friends of the branch, Marty Carmichael (on the left), formerly Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and Veterans Mentor for Be-inn Unity, together with Brian Kelly (on the right), formerly 19th Regiment Royal Artillery, from Sacro, Veterans Mentoring Service. They both shared their extraordinary soldier's stories with the branch - so inspirational and clearly showed why they are so passionate about the work that they do for veterans in our community.

Remembrance

As we approach Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country. Their courage, sacrifice and dedication will never be forgotten. We must also remember the families of the brave, who have equally sacrificed, saying goodbye to their loved ones who never got to return, and for those who did but life suddenly felt very different.
