Following an extensive search and selection process I am pleased to be able to announce that Sacro’s next Chief Executive will be Annie Mauger-Thompson.

Annie is an experienced leader in the not for profit sector and currently runs her own consultancy company supporting different organisations in the charity sector. She has recently been working as an interim Chief Executive with ACOSVO and has been interim Chief Executive for Inverclyde CVS.

Annie has worked across the UK including as a senior manager in local authorities, Chief Executive of a government agency, Chief Executive of a charity for refugees and asylum seekers in Yorkshire and then became Chief Executive of a UK-wide membership body. Annie spent the last few years as Executive Director for the Devolved Nations with the Chartered Institute of Housing working closely with a wide range of stakeholders in the public and third sectors and as an advocate to government and decision makers. She therefore brings a wealth of experience of working at the most senior levels in a range of not for profit organisations and is regarded as being a very effective communicator and builder of partnerships.

She will bring a new range of networks and experience to the role of Chief Executive which will add to the considerable strength Tom Halpin has brought to us during his 10 years as Chief Executive. Thanks to all his commitment Tom will hand over the reins of Sacro to Annie as an organisation which is of high-standing and forward-looking.

As Chair of the Board I am delighted to have appointed Annie as someone who I am confident will quickly establish herself as an effective and inclusive leader and who will ensure the continued positive development of our services.

Annie will join us at a date to be confirmed but shortly ahead of Tom’s well-earned retirement at the end of March.

Sandy Cameron, Chair of Sacro Board of Trustees

“I am delighted to welcome Annie as Sacro’s new Chief Executive and truly wish everyone associated with Sacro continued success under her leadership. I am confident that the strengths and experiences Annie now brings will serve Sacro well going forward.”

Tom Halpin, Chief Executive

“I am delighted to be appointed to the role of Chief Executive at Sacro. Tom and his team do incredible work to change people’s lives and build safer communities. I am looking forward to making sure that continues to happen, working in partnership with government, public and third sector bodies locally and nationally to deliver outcomes that prevent and reduce offending and keep people safer. Sacro is all about people centred services and I believe passionately that this is the way to change things for the better.”
